Through operating with world-class plastic surgeons across North and South America, Dr. Laliberte brings to the Bow Valley and Calgary areas a practice that encompasses the breadth of aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery.

Dr. Laliberte was born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan. After completing undergraduate and medical school at the University of Saskatchewan, Dr. Laliberte specialized in Plastic Surgery at the University of Manitoba. In his 5th year of residency as Chief Resident, he attended the prestigious Pitanguy Clinic in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil where he completed a cosmetic surgery internship. Dr. Pitanguy pioneered teaching and education in plastic surgery in Brazil and was honored with the Culture for Peace prize by Pope John Paul II for his work.

Dr. Laliberte subsequently trained at the Harvard Medical School’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. The hospital has a renowned history of excellence in Plastic Surgery; its first Chief of Plastic Surgery, Dr. Joseph Murray, was a recipient of the Nobel Prize in Medicine in 1990.

Dr. Laliberte’s subspecialty experience continued when he was selected for a one-year fellowship in Hand and Microsurgery at The Buncke Replantation & Transplantation Clinic in San Francisco, California. The Buncke Clinic is a world-renowned center founded over 40 years ago by Harry J. Buncke, who is considered the ‘Father of Microsurgery’.

Prior to relocating to Canmore and Banff, Alberta, Dr. Laliberte held an appointment as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery at the University of Saskatchewan, College of Medicine, Division of Plastic Surgery in Saskatoon.

Dr. Laliberte is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada with specialist certification in Plastic Surgery. He is an active member of the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons and American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Dr. Laliberte is a member of the Alberta Medical Association and is licensed to practice medicine by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
